Over three million flowers planted in Kish by mid-April ‘08

      The urban services and landscaping Deputy for the Kish Urban and Development Services Company said: “To increase the green space area on Kish Island, over three million seasonal flowers were planted from the end of last year till mid-April of the current year”. In an interview with IRNA on Monday, Mani Ja’farian added: “The landscaping of over 150 thousand square metres of green space was completed in the squares and roads of Kish Island over the same period”. He continued: “The forestation project for the former Qoroub-e Kish mines, which began at the beginning of last November in an area of 200 hectares, is in its final stages. According to him, with a green space area of over 300 hectares and a per capita of over 130 square metres, Kish Island has one of the highest green space per capita in the country. Ja’farian pointed out to the installation of equipments in playgrounds, and said: “By the end of last year, these equipments had been installed in ten parks in Kish for children”. The urban services and landscaping Deputy for the Kish Urban and Development Services Company added: “These include three locations in Sadaf Town, Marjan family park, Qoroub-e Kish park, Mir Mohana park, Panjah Dastgah Town, Sahar camp, the grand recreational pier, and Mir Mohana Town”. Ja’farian stated: “Also, sports equipment for sports lovers were installed in six locations on Kish Island, mostly next to the children’s equipment”. He pointed out to the other plans carried out by the Kish Urban and Development Services Company and said: “The lighting for the Greek Ship and the pergolas, the fencing of a number of louver trees, and the changing of light globes in the island’s streets and squares are some of the finished projects of the last months of last year till mid-April of the current year.
