Bowling and Billiard Federation Secretary: Asian eight-ball pool games in Kish
The Bowling and Billiard Federation Secretary announced Wednesday that the Asian eight-ball pool games are to take place on Kish Island. Amir Karimzadeh pointed out to the importance of hosting the games in Iran, and said: “In these games 27 Asian countries will be competing with each other from 7th October for three days”. The aim of the games was to identify existing potentials, assess the national eight-ball team, and familiarisation with the latest techniques and tactics of this field, he said. The Bowling and Billiard Federation Secretary continued: “Fortunately, we have been able to reach a good level for billiard, but to reach an optimum level of winning medals in Asia and the world, we must work harder”. He added: “For the better organisation of the games, we travelled to this island with the officials of various federations to assess the halls and hold talks with Kish Island sports authorities”. Karimzadeh assessed the outcome of the talks: “At a meeting with Madadi, KFZO Managing Director, and Sajjadi, Kish Sports and Recreation Institute Managing Director, we reached good conclusions for the hosting of the games and they have announced their readiness to cooperate with the Federation”. He continued by emphasising on the acceptable organisation and hosting of the games, and stated: “Various meetings will be scheduled to study all aspects of the games to avoid problems during the competitions”. Regarding the eight-ball team of the country, he said: “The qualifying games have taken place and top players have been chosen for the national team. Several training camps will also be organised before the games and more choices will be made in these camps in order to participate with the best players”.
