Establishing medical tourism centre forecasted by Kish Master Plan
Kish Free Zone Organisation Member of Board and Deputy for Tourism said: “The establishment of a medical tourism centre has been forecasted by Kish Master Plan”. At the opening ceremony of the first national medical societies’ conference on Kish Island Thursday evening, Mahdi Chamanzad added: “Planning to attract tourists to Kish has not been made solely with recreation and leisure time in mind and we are looking to new ways of attracting tourists to Kish Island”. As reported by IRNA, he stated: “Currently, many demands have been put to KFZO for the establishment of medical tourism centres on Kish Island from abroad”. Chamanzad added: “The City of Health and Knowledge on Kish Island will be built in an area of 100 hectares and a suitable model has been prepared with the collaboration of Tehran University of Medical Sciences for the construction of a health city on the island”. He reiterated: “With the startup of treatment, research, and laboratory centres o Kish Island, alongside its beautiful nature for patient recovery, this zone will be able to attract many tourists for medical and treatment purposes”. Chamanzad added: “Due to significant medical advancement in the country, Kish Island is a suitable location for providing unique services to patients and plans have been made for the admission and treatment of diabetic and spinal injury patients by using newly produced medication in Iran”. The KFZO MOB pointed out to the start of work of creditable medical universities from home in Kish Free Zone, and said: “As there are no visa requirements for the travel of foreign nationals to this zone, half of university capacities in Kish have been designed to attract foreign students”. The national conference of the presidents of medical societies will be held for two days on Kish Island, at the conference centre, with the participation of over 80 presidents and society members.
