Foreign countries express interest to cooperate with Kish

      Yemen, Sri Lanka, Serbia, Croatia, Egypt, Palestine, Kuwait, and Argentina have expressed interest to expand ties with Kish Island. According to KFZO Office of Cultural Affairs and PR, at meetings with the ambassadors of Yemen, Sri Lanka, Serbia, Croatia, Sudan, Kuwait, Argentina, and the chargés d'affairs of Egypt and Palestine, the KFZO MD stressed on bilateral cooperation with the said countries. At this meeting Wednesday evening, and on the sidelines of the 3rd International Exhibition of Hotel Management and Related Industries on Kish Island, engineer Majid Shayesteh pointed out to the very good relations of the IR of Iran with these countries and expressed interest to further expand these ties. He pointed out that construction work for a large university campus will soon begin on Kish Island, and invited the countries participating at the Kish exhibition to establish international university branches on this island. Shayesteh also mentioned the excellent sports facilities of Kish, and added: "20 domestic and international games are staged in Kish annually and visiting athletes can use island facilities for their training camps and competitions". Shayesteh said the 15-year tax exemption was another economic privilege of the island, and stated: "Foreign private sector investors can easily benefit from these incentives". The KFZO MD stressed on the need to set up regular air flights between Kish and other world capitals and reiterated: "Tourists from your countries can thus explore the beauties of Kish Island". According to this same report, the ambassadors and chargés d'affairs of the above-mentioned countries thanked KFZO authorities for their hospitality, describing this beautiful island as very safe and peaceful and hoped to return to it. They pointed out that Kish Island had high potentials and capacities in the tourism industry and announced that the result of talks with KFZO MD will be reported to the private sector investors of their respective countries.
