Fast Passenger ship starts operation in Kish

      The Kish-Bandar Lengueh-Kish shipping lane officially began work with a modern passenger ship on Thursday morning. According to KFZO Office of Cultural Affairs and PR, at the inauguration ceremony for this shipping line, with the presence of Mohammad Nahavandian, President of Iran Chamber of Commerce and Mines and Industry, engineer Majid Shayesteh, KFZO MD, and a group of local authorities, the MD of Kish Port and Airport Development Company said: "The startup of this shipping line was one of the requests of residents and tourists wishing to travel between Kish and neighbouring provinces". Bashir Khalili pointed out that the inauguration of this sea route was in accordance with government policies for cheaper trips, and added: "This regular shipping line will travel with modern Tavous vessels in the Kish-Bandar Lengueh route and vice-versa daily". He said the trip cost 10 thousand Toumans and lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes, and reminded: "This ship has an autopilot system and the passengers will have complete security". Khalili also added: "The ship will leave Kish harbour for Bandar Lengueh every day at 10 am and return to Kish at 13.00 hours on the same day". Ebrahim Rostami pointed out to the security of Tavous boat and said: "This ship has eight lifeboats, with a capacity of 50 passengers each and can take six cars and over 30 tonnes of load on board". According to this same report, the Kish Tavous Beheshti Shipping Line MD also said: "The Tavous ship will transfer over 300 passengers in the said lane on every trip". At the ceremonies, he expressed hope that the regular Kish-Dubai shipping lane will start work from early next year.
